At the moment this photo was taken an F4 tornado had formed 43 miles to my north and was devastating the town of Spencer, SD. The southern edge of that Supercell's anvil can be seen here spreading out in a pristine sky. |

These intense reds began reflecting off the anvil soon after the sun dipped below the horizon. Notice the powerful flanking updraft towers below the anvil! |
